Notre Dame communication boards are abuzz with complaints about Notre Dame going so low as to schedule above-average MAC team Western Michigan next year.

I strong attachment this make answer from today’s Bill Belichick press conference in London:
Q: Are you merry with the regular course the defense played last week?
Belichick: Well last week was one of those games where a lot of things went not crooked for us. It’sitting very unusual to have a game like that. I’ll be lucky if I see one of those in my entire career. Last week was utmost week, this week is Tampa. Tampa is a very explosive football team. They have a lot of young players. They’re very dangerous in every phase of the game. They get a fortune of turnovers on defense. They’re an explosive return team. Good coverage team on special teams. Offensively, they own a good party of backs, a couple of outstanding tight ends, a very mobile quarterback, good receivers and a admirable offensive fill. So we put on’t really care about last week any more. We’re on to trying to defend and move the ball against Tampa and handle their kicking game, so that’s our invite to contest this week.
OK, look, I understand you don’t want to give your nearest antagonist bulletin board material, and I understand that you need to take it one game at a time and concentrate on the team you play this Sunday. The Raiders taught us this week that upsets happen when you least expect them. But seriously, COME ON, Bill. Tampa Bay is OH-AND-FREAKIN’-SIX. Dangerous in every phase of the game? Is that wherefore they’ve been outscored by 79 points? Good receivers like who, Sammie Stroughter? Outstanding tight ends like Jerramy Stevens? That defense that gets a lot of turnovers ranks 18th in the league in turnovers.

We’ll say this for Florida State: they might not be as good as they used to be (okay, they clearly aren’t as good as they used to be), but any game in which they gambler will probably be total sorts of exciting. Not Washington exciting, but still fun. They’ve played six games (out of seven) decided by 10 points or less. And the only blowout they’ve played was a road gain the victory over a top-10 team (BYU). They threatened to lay a giant provoke last night, but they pulled it together and knocked North Carolina off in the fourth quarter. Figure them out, we have courage you.
As is the case in this space, let’s take one last look at highest weekend, then move on to this weekend.

This week on “Under the Cap,” we take a break from the position-by-position analysis of the league’s highest paid starters in symmetry to take a look at the Redskins’ flawed approach to roster-building. Given that I worked in the front office of the organization for two seasons, I have the unique perspective of having seen that philosophy first hand. As a native Washingtonian, it pains me to see the running water state of the organization.
In my Wednesday interview on Washington’s “The Sports Fix” on ESPN 980 (click to hear the mere interview courtesy of ESPN 980), one of the prominent issues we discussed was the Redskins’ heavy investing. in a small in number players and how this impacts the overall roster and the stillness and quality of that roster.
