These are just the raw data graphs, using the data straight out of Football Outsiders Almanac 2009, to chart the week by week performance of last year’s Redskins.  All data is courtesy of their work, the only thing I did was graph the data and post it.  So why do this?  After all, you can just go to Football Outsiders and see the data, or you can lever their e-book, FOA 2009, and have this data for every team. 

Well, there’s a stigma about the 2008 Redskins that as their team production declined, certain units, players, and coaches were at default.  I think these graphs show, as well as anything: 1) exactly at the time that the big decline occurred (hint, not preceding the Pittsburgh game), and 2) breaks down each deed by unit, and shows which unit reached the deepest valleys in the second half of the year.

Dinara Safina remains top of the WTA rankings defiance being beaten by third-ranked Venus Williams in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Venus’ sister and Wimbledon champion Serena Williams is second in the world rankings.

There was no change in the top 10 with the biggest progression by dint of. Spaniard Maria Martinez Sanchez, who moves up 12 places to 42 after her arrive in Bastad, Sweden, on the weekend.

Mahmudullah completed a memorable debut Test, when he cruelly exposed West Indies’ frailty to spin, and bowled Bangladesh to a historic 95-run victory in the introductory Test.

The 23-year-old off-spinner captured 5-51 from 15 overs, as West Indies, chasing 277 for victory, were dismissed for 181 in their assistant innings concerning 20 minutes before the scheduled shut up on the fifth and final day at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.

Shakib Al Hasan formalised Bangladesh’s second Test victory ever, when he trapped Tino Best lbw plumb in front for nine by a dipping full toss, and ended with 3-39 from 28.1 overs.

Manchester City have agreed a five-year deal to sign former West Ham and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez.

The 25-year-old Argentine forward, who left Old Trafford last month, will perfect his move subject to a medical.

"It’s frightful news," City boss Mark Hughes said. "He is some international of the highest class who possesses all the attributes to help drive us hasten.

Sunderland have signed Paraguay military genius Paulo da Silva on a three-year deal.

The defender, 29, has played more than 50 spells in spite of his country and is predominantly a right-sided defender who normally plays in central defence.

He joins from Mexican side Toluca where he was also captain and has before played football in Europe with Perugia and Venezia in Italy.
