England’s youngsters were crushed by Germany in the European Under-21 Championship ultimate in Malmo.

The Germans went in front when Mesut Ozil went past Martin Cranie and cleverly cast Gonzalo Castro, who slotted home.

Soon after the break, goalkeeper Scott Loach misjudged Ozil’s free-kick and palmed the ball into the net.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter admits the huge whole of money being pumped into English clubs by mellow foreign owners is a worrying trend.

Blatter says the amount of cash in the Premier League gives English clubs an advantage over their European rivals.

"In France, Germany and Spain there are by-laws that say owners must be from the same country," said Blatter.
