Henin survies day of upsets in Belgium

ANTWERP, Belgium - Top-ranked Justine Henin survived a day of upsets by beating Russian qualifier Alisa Kleybanova 6-4, 6-3 to reach the Diamond Games semifinals on Friday.

Henin will face Swiss qualifier Timea Bacsinszky, who advanced when third-seeded Daniela Hantuchova retired because of a respiratory illness while Bacsinszky was leading 6-2, 4-6, 4-1.

Karen Knapp of Italy upset fourth-seeded Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 6-2, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (2). And ninth-seeded Li Na of China beat Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 7-5, 6-4.
