The FA can today confirm that it has appointed Quest Limited to undertake its audit of a selection of transfers.
Quest will be engaged with immediate effect and will initially review transactions from the January transfer window. They have also been tasked with conducting an audit of the 2008 summer transfer window.
Quest were appointed after a tender process involving other professional services firms, and were chosen for their significant recent experience of working in football and in particular, their knowledge of the mechanics of the football transfer market.

AUSTRALIAN cycling star Cadel Evans is now favourite for the Tour de France after the talent-packed Astana team was controversially excluded.
The decision announced by tour director Christian Prudhomme is set to rule out last year’s champion Alberto Contador of Spain and third place-getter Levi Leipheimer.
Evans finished second by only 23 seconds to Contador last July – the best Australian result in Tour history and also the three-week classic’s second-closest result, with eight seconds back to American Leipheimer.

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men’s indoor track and field team has resurfaced in the top five, at No. 4, in the latest national rankings released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Oklahoma began the year at No. 17 in the polls, which are compiled strictly from the NCAA descending order lists and are released each Wednesday, and climbed to No. 3 on Jan. 30th. The Sooners briefly dropped to No. 7 before climbing three spots to their latest ranking after a strong weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

LONDON – The chief executive of the Premier League insisted Wednesday that England’s top 20 clubs still want to look into playing overseas matches despite hostility toward the plan.
Richard Scudamore denied that criticism of last week’s announcement that the organization would examine proposals to expand the regular season by 10 overseas games from 2010-11 had led some elite clubs to reconsider their position.

Rookie Jordan Mayer scored once and set up a goal by fellow rookie Casey Cizikas as the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors ended a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Guelph Storm Wednesday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Mayer, who has only been with the Majors since Jan. 1, scored his third goal of the season in a three-goal, first-period uprising by Mississauga (26-27-1-1). He set up Cizikas for Mississauga’s first goal just two minutes after the opening faceoff.

Manchester United have moved from fourth to second in the list of the world’s richest clubs, as Real Madrid stayed top for the third straight year.
Deloitte’s Football Money League, which is based on revenues generated during 2006/7, was headed by United for eight years until the Spaniards deposed them.

Liz Leer equaled her career high with 18 points and Stephanie N’Garsanet grabbed 11 rebounds as American defeated Bucknell 50-46 in women’s basketball action at Sojka Pavilion Wednesday night. Hope Foster (Washington, D.C./Dunbar) led the Bison with 17 points, the 10th time in the last 11 games she netted double figures.
Foster was the lone Bucknell player in double figures as the Bison struggled to score much of the night. The 46 points equaled the season low for them and outside of Foster’s 7-for-8 performance from the floor, they shot just 12 of 44 from the field.
