Red Bull Racing and Williams got a head start on this week’s Formula One test in Jerez, Spain on Monday.
David Coulthard posted the fastest time, 16-100ths of a second quicker than teammate Mark Webber in the RB4. The Aussie seeing the most track time, completing a total of 112 incident free laps.
The Williams duo of Kazuka Nakajima and Nico Rosberg were back on track for the first time since cutting their last test short due to a problem with the front wing mounting on the FW30.
Rookie Nakajima was the quicker of the two as the team debuted its latest anniversary livery, which features notable numbers for the team over the last three decades. Nakajima’s best time was 2-10ths of a second quicker than Rosberg, who only managed a 69 laps on Monday.
Most of the other F1 teams, except for Ferrari and Toyota, are expected to take the track in Spain on Tuesday.
Ferrari and Toyota concluded their three day test in Bahrain on Monday with Felipe Massa setting the pace in the F2008. The Scuderia reports none of the technical issues which plagued their test on Sunday re-surfaced on Monday.
