President of US Soccer Sunil Gulati announced that the US men will face a top 5 FIFA ranked team June 8th in the Northeast (edit note, the linked article says Northwest, but it is indeed the Northeast). Although he did not hint at the team, I think I have a good guess.
The current top 5 are Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Spain and Germany. Since all three European teams qualified for Euro 2008, which starts on 7 June, it is pretty safe to rule them out, which leaves the two South American powerhouses. The US men just played Brazil in the fall, and although I’m sure a lot of money was made out of it, I have a difficult time seeing the men in yellow back on US soil so soon. Which leaves me to guess the team for early June is Argentina.

Herb Courtney sank a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to give Delaware a dramatic 68-67 win over UNC Wilmington in Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball on Wednesday night.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Blue Hens (7-5, 10-12) and gave them their fourth win over the Seahawks (8-4, 15-9) in 16 all-time meetings.
Courtney’s shot gave Delaware only its second lead of the night and its first since the opening minutes.

A couple of months ago we could have reasonably expected to see these two glamour girls gracing the galleries of Pebble Beach. After all, their uber hot NFL boyfriends were both scheduled to play there this week.
But then again, the guys were supposed to meet at the Superbowl and that didn’t happen either. Both Tom Brady Giselle’s guy and Tony Romo, Jessica’s main man have withdrawn from the tournament, along with Brady’s coach and aspiring videographer Bill Belicheck. Another popular Bill, Bill Murray, won’t be playing either. He’s making a movie in Iceland.
