MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Rich Rodriguez defended his Michigan residency in an effort to keep the West Virginia University lawsuit in federal court.
Rich and Rita Rodriguez signed a lease on a townhouse in Ann Arbor, Mich., establishing residency in that state the day before West Virginia sued him over a $4 million buyout clause in his contract, his lawyer said in court documents filed Monday night.
The couple also registered as Michigan voters and obtained Michigan driver licenses on Dec. 27, the same day the lawsuit was filed in a state court in West Virginia.

England won the Algarve Tournament after they clocked up their sixth straight clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Portugal.
Amateur boxing returns to the ABC Sports Arena on Saturday, February 16 at 7:30 PM.
The main event on the card is a highly anticipated rematch between Danny Cabberro Foster of Annandale and Ash Poole of Staunton, VA. Foster defeated Poole last October and gave Poole his first loss. Poole bounced back from that loss and went on to win the Virginia State 152-pound title.

There will be another Baltimore Pro Boxing card coming to the Pikesville National Guard Armory on Friday, February 29.
Scheduled to headline the show will be undefeated Baltimore, MD middleweight Jessie “The Beast” Nicklow (15-0-1, five KO’s) who will take on veteran Richard “Tiger” Lee Hall (10-20-2, six KO’s) of Rocky Mount, NC in an eight-round contest.
Also on the card will be Brandywine, MD heavyweight Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell (1-0) who is slated to take on Maurice Winslow of Wilson, NC (1-3-1) in a four-round bout.

Takuma Sato believes Super Aguri will be ready for the start of the Formula One season despite the financial crisis which has forced the team to forgo any testing in 2008.
The Honda-backed Japanese team is actively looking for investors to take a financial stake in the team and several groups - one in India and one in Spain - have been mentioned.

Sluchinski improved to 3-1 with an 11-1 rout of Colin Miller’s Northwest Territories team on Monday in Draw 4 action.
