AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season Sunday to help Ajax beat Feyenoord 3-0 and cut PSV Eindhoven’s lead to eight points in the Dutch First Division soccer league standings.

John Heitinga played his 200th career match for Ajax and gave the team the lead in the eighth minute with a low shot past Henk Timmer after a pass from Luis Suarez.

Huntelaar made it 2-0 in the last minute of the first half when Gabri broke through Feyenoord’s defence and crossed for the unmarked striker to head home. The Netherlands international scored his second goal just before full time with a volley off a deft chipped pass by Rasmus Lindgren.

Ajax dominated the match and it was only Timmer in the Feyenoord goal who restricted the score with a string of fine saves in the second half.

”After the break, we created so many chances we should have finished it off (earlier),” Ajax coach Arie Koster said. ”`We did not let Feyenoord play.”

The result took Ajax back to second place, eight points behind defending champion.

Also on Sunday, it was: FC Groningen 1, Roda JC 1; Sparta Rotterdam 2, VVV Venlo 0; and FC Utrecht 2, Willem II 0.

On Saturday, Danko Lazovic and Ibrahim Affelay scored first-half goals to lead PSV over AZ Alkmaar 2-0.
