York City manager Chris Walker is hoping his side can carry on their unbeaten run in The FA Trophy against Farsley Celtic on Sunday.
York stretched their run to 12 games without defeat after humbling table-topping Conference Premier side Aldershot Town last Saturday and Walker wants a repeat performance against Farsley this weekend.
“There is a great sense of belief that we can keep the run going in The Trophy. It’s a great run to be on and beating Aldershot shows we can beat anyone on our day,” he said.
Walker will change his side for the trip to Throstle Nest after Darren Craddock picked up his fifth yellow of the season against Aldershot. New signing Jimmy Beadle is in contention for his first start at Craddock’s expense.
Chemistry lecturer Amjad Iqbal will be hoping to teach the Minstermen a lesson too on Saturday, as he bids to add to his strike which helped Farsley past Alfreton Town in Round Two.
The success against Alfreton was struggling Farsley’s first win for seven games and manager John Deacey has been boosted by the arrival of duo Scott Gardner and Georges Santos.
The experienced Santos is a welcome addition to Deacey’s side. Farsley are in the Conference Premier relegation zone, but the former West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United defender can also play as a makeshift striker and will be hoping to help the Yorkshire-based team out of trouble.
