The Buffalo Bills almost certainly will get a regular-season game approved for Toronto and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head a list of four teams under consideration to play in the NFL’s 2008 game in the United Kingdom, a league source said Sunday.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson Jr. had petitioned the league to play one home game in Toronto to strengthen its Canadian fan base and the league source said owners are expected to approve the request. The opponent in that game is unknown.

Oklahoma battles back from a 9-0 deficit, comes up short in final bout

NORMAN, Okla. – At the conclusion of nine duals the team score was tied at 15, and redshirt freshman Nathan Fernandez was given the opportunity to knock off No. 13-ranked Kyle Massey in the heavyweight bout to give Oklahoma the win.

As time wound down, Massey proved to be too much for the freshman, defeating Fernandez by a final of 4-2 and giving the Badgers (9-2-1) an 18-15 victory over the Sooners.

Holy Cross’ Bethany O’Dell snapped an 0-for-10 day with a long 3-pointer from the left wing with just less than a minute to play to propel the Crusaders to a 48-46 victory over Bucknell in women’s basketball action Sunday afternoon at Sojka Pavilion in front of 2,017 fans, the third-highest attendance for a women’s basketball game at the five-year-old facility. Kesha Champion (Chesapeake, Va./Indian River), who hit a two key 3-pointers of her own in the final minutes, led Bucknell with 13 points.

After closing out the first half on an 8-0 run to take a 27-19 lead into halftime, the Bison struggled offensively in the second half, netting nine points through the first 16+ minutes of the stanza. However, they never trailed by more than four points as Holy Cross (9-9, 2-1 Patriot League) turned the ball over nine times and went through one stretch where they went more than six minutes without a field goal.
