NORMAN, Okla. — Riding a three game winning streak, including back-to-back victories over top 25 opponents in its last two games, the OU men’s basketball team is on the cusp of cracking the national polls with a 10-3 record on the year.
 
Playing their best basketball of the season, the Sooners welcome Rice to the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
 
In conjunction with the game against the Owls, the OU Athletics Marketing Department is offering a number of great promotions to come see the hottest team in town.
 
  Mini OU Basketball Hoop & Ball Giveaway
The first 500 kids 12 years of age and under will receive a mini OU basketball hoop and ball set as they come through the doors.
 
  Bring the Entire Family
With only two nonconference home games remaining, only a pair of opportunities remain to take advantage of a great deal for the entire family.
 
Family Pack tickets are available for Saturday’s game against the Owls. Family Pack tickets include your ticket to the game, a hot dog, drink and a coupon for an OU T-shirt (redeemable at  OU Authentic) all for only $10. A minimum of four tickets must be purchased prior to the day of the game.
 
  Saturday Mini Packs
Saturday’s game is also part of one of Oklahoma’s Saturday Mini Pack deals for the 2007-08 season, which offers tickets for three Saturday games for just $25. In addition to Rice, other games paired in the Saturday Mini Pack include Kansas State and Texas A&M.

Davenport still rolling at ASB Classic

Serena’s win puts USA in Hopman final

PERTH, Australia – Serena Williams beat Alicia Molik 6-2, 7-6 (7) Thursday to give the United States a 1-0 lead over Australia, guaranteeing the Americans a spot in the Hopman Cup mixed teams tennis final.

The U.S. entered Thursday’s match with a 2-0 round-robin record and 5-1 in overall matches in Group B, and was the only unbeaten team. Friday’s final will be the American’s ninth in the 20-year history of the tournament.
