JOHN Collins has emerged as the front runner to take over at Fulham after the struggling Brclays Premier League club sacked Lawrie Sanchez.
Collins, a former Fulham player, quit as manager of Scottish Premier League club Hibernian earlier this week.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol and ex-Partizan Belgrade coach Miroslav Djukic are also reported to be on Fulham’s shortlist.

Olazabal has struggled with injury for most of 2007
Jose Maria Olazabal hopes to return to action late next month after four months out with a form of rheumatism.

No. 15 Duke placed all five starters in double figures and forced 32 Bucknell turnovers as the Bison fell to the Blue Devils by a 92-49 score Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Bucknell was led by a career-high 21 points from Kesha Champion (Chesapeake, Va./Indian River), while Taylor Phillips (South Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) added 11 off the bench.
Duke was led by 19 points apiece from Joy Cheek and Chante Black, while Abby Waner added 16, including three long 3-pointers.

The hits keep coming for Tennessee’s football team, as coach Phillip Fulmer announced Friday that six scholarship players would be academically ineligible for the Outback Bowl.
The Vols’ leading receiver, Lucas Taylor, is ineligible to play against Wisconsin on Jan. 1 as well as reserve receiver Kenny O’Neal, reserve defensive back Ricardo Kemp and freshman linebacker Chris Donald. ESPN.com reported on Thursday that defensive starters Demonte Bolden and Rico McCoy failed to meet the necessary academic requirements to play in the Outback Bowl, too.

After Utah tied Boston College for the longest consecutive streak of bowl victories, the officiating crew issued a statement admitting a blown call in the game, even after it had been reviewed.
The play came on a Brian Johnson third-down pass to Jereme Brooks, where the Utah wide-out dove for the end zone and tried to push the ball past the sideline pylon at the goal line.
The ball appeared to leave his hand and hit the pylon, with the officials ruling the play wasn’t a touchdown and that Utah retained possession for a fourth-down try from inside the 1-yard line.

Rogge also said the focus on political and social issues in China will sharpen leading to the Beijing Olympics, with the games acting as a "powerful catalyst."

Nicolas Anelka is the man at the top of Chelsea’s list next month as they attempt to sign a striker to cover in Didier Drogba’s absence. The notoriously restless Frenchman is understood to be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge but he wants assurances that he will not be discarded when Drogba returns from the African Nations Cup in February.

Sanchez took over the reins at Craven Cottage in May
