Quezada, Moreno edge ever-closer to close-ups
LEMOORE — Manuel Quezada and Carina Moreno became World Boxing Council champions during the past year.
In the coming year, the headliner’s of tonight’s boxing show at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino could become television stars as well.
Craig Goossen of Goossen Tutor Promotions said that if Quezada and Moreno emerge victorious from their respective 10-round bouts tonight, the plan is to arrange television bouts for both fighters in 2008.
Quezada, the WBC’s Caribbean Boxing Federation heavyweight champion, meets Galen Brown. Moreno, the WBC’s women’s straweight champion, takes on Suzannah Warner in a rematch of a Feb. 22 that ended with a unanimous 10-round decision for Moreno.
