NASH Rawiller hopes his Melbourne spring carnival success will continue as racing returns to Royal Randwick.

After featuring in the money on several occasions in Melbourne, including his win on Stanzout in the Group II Gilgai Stakes – not to mention the shock second on Wonderful World at big odds in the W.S. Cox Plate – Rawiller is confident he has the necessary firepower to reignite his Sydney premiership aspirations.

Leading Rawiller’s big book of rides is the Gai Waterhouse-trained Dance Hero in the $100,000 Arrowfield Stud sprint feature, which also features Takeover Target.

While more than happy with Dance Hero this week, Rawiller said that Waterhouse’s horses would all be firing.

"I know some of the horses coming from other tracks have the advantage of race experience and race fitness, but Gai’s horses are as forward as they can be, and they always perform best on their home track," said Rawiller, who has seven rides for the leading trainer.

"Dance Hero couldn’t have trialled better the other day and I don’t think Gai could have the horse any better. He really impressed me in the trial the other day and he’s forward enough to win.

"The other horse that is going well is Lieserl. I know it’s not the easiest of races but she’s been impressing me on the track."

Rawiller racked up more than 20 winners when he joined forces with Waterhouse at the end of last season and sits just three winners behind Waterhouse’s other stable rider, Blake Shinn, in this season’s metropolitan premiership.
