KIRKLAND, Wash. — Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren says starting running back Shaun Alexander will miss his third consecutive game at St. Louis on Sunday because of the sprained left knee.
The eight-year NFL veteran has been beset with injuries the past two seasons since being the league’s MVP in 2005, when he helped the Seahawks reach the Super Bowl.
He suffered his current injury in a Week 9 loss at Cleveland.
Holmgren reiterated today that Alexander will not play until he’s able to practice all week.
In Alexander’s absence, Maurice Morris will start against the Rams. Morris has run for 87 yards in each of the two games he has started for Alexander.
