In the wake of the reports that Houston Nutt will not be back with the Arkansas Razorbacks next year, word out of Chapel Hill is that UNC may be in talks with football coach Butch Davis about a contract extension.
Davis’s original contract was a seven-year agreement worth just under $2 million per year, with a $2 million buyout clause if he left for another coaching job.

Many weekend golfers are too impatient for their own good. They don’t take time to warm-up before playing a round of golf. They’re too much in a hurry to tee off when they get a chance to play, which is understandable if they only play once a week. By the time they get to the course, they’re usually chomping at the bit. Unfortunately, these golfers risk injury, sacrifice performance, and hurt their golf handicaps by not warming up properly.
Failing to warm-up affects consistency and power. That’s why I recommend using a pre-round warm-up routine in my golf lessons. You can’t get the most out of your muscles if they’re not ready to play. That means warming them up before you tee off. So if you’re one of the weekend golfers who don’t have a pre-round warm-up routine, think seriously about developing one. It could help your golf handicap more than you realize.

Here are the results from the ABC Sports Arena in Springfield, VA:
Junior welterweight Andrew “The Doo Man” Farmer of Front Royal, VA won a tough, six-round split decision over Curtis “KO” Smith of Atlanta, GA. Farmer got the win despite being knocked down in the sixth round. The win was Farmer’s fifth straight and raises his record to 9-1, six KO’s while Smith falls to 5-3, three KO’s.
In the co-feature, undefeated Montgomery, AL middleweight John “No Mercy” Mackey won a relatively easy four-round unanimous decision over Charles “Murdock” Norwood. Mackey boxed beautifully throughout the contest and made what many (including myself) thought would be a difficult bout very simple. Mackey is now 7-0, three KO’s while Norwood is 3-2, one KO.

SHANGHAI, China – Canada’s Daniel Nestor and partner Mark Knowles of the Bahamas concluded their decade-plus partnership on a high note Sunday, winning the year-end title at the Masters Cup.
The veterans, who are wrapping up their collaboration after 13 years on court and 40 titles, went out winners in a 6-2, 6-3 victory over US Open-champions Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Austrian Julian Knowle at the Qi Zhong stadium.

Roger Federer
Shanghai, China (Sports Network) – Roger Federer and David Ferrer were semifinal winners Saturday at the Tennis Masters Cup and will play for the title of the lucrative season-ending event on Sunday.
The top-seeded Federer had a surprisingly easy match against nemesis Rafael Nadal, posting a 6-4, 6-1 triumph, while the sixth-seeded Ferrer cruised past American Andy Roddick, 6-1, 6-3.
