The 36-year-old Rahman (45-6-2, 35 KO’s) struggled in the early going against the light-hitting but accurate shots from Lawrence (23-13-4, 0 KO’s), whose only dubious claim to fame is that he has never knocked out anyone in his 13 year pro career.

Nevertheless, Lawrence (239) did land a number of punches against the slower moving Rahman (243), who struggled with his wind and conditioning throughout the contest. However, late in the 6th, Rahman drilled Lawrence with two more clean overhand rights high on the jaw that drove the Wappinger Falls, New York, fighter into the ropes.
