THE Kangaroos and the AFL are yet to reach an agreement over the league’s push to have the club relocate to the Gold Coast.

Kangaroos board members met with AFL officials in a meeting where both options were presented.

The AFL outlined its incentive package for the club to relocate, which includes wiping off the Kangaroos debt, and providing other financial and recruiting concessions.

The AFL wants another club based in south-east Queensland within the next decade and has encouraged the financially struggling Kangaroos to relocate north.

But the board members who are in favour of the club staying in Melbourne presented their proposal to their fellow directors.

Board member James Brayshaw, who is leading the push to stay in Melbourne, outlined his plan for the Kangaroos to build on their sponsorship and support.

Brayshaw also has the support of the majority of Kangaroos supporters and members who are in favour of the club staying in Melbourne.

The board members agreed to wait until early December before getting back to the AFL with a final decision.

Brayshaw said club members would also get the chance to have their say on both proposals.
