Peter-James Corsi couldn’t be stopped.
The Halifax centre scored four goals to lead the Mooseheads to a 10-2 demolition of the Val-d’Or Foreurs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Saturday.
Corsi scored his first two goals in the first period before adding a goal in each of the next two stanzas to pace the Mooseheads (14-3-0-4) to the victory.
Tomas Knotek scored a pair, while Bryce Swan, Jakub Voracek, Colby Pridham and Ryan Hillier also counted for the Mooseheads.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Rimouski 7 Baie-Comeau 2; Victoriaville 5 Rouyn-Noranda 2; PEI 6 Acadie Bathurst 4; Saint John 4 Chicoutimi 3; Lewiston 2 St. John’s 1 (SO) and Shawinigan 7 Drummondville 4.
At Halifax, Vincent Germain and Maxim Guerin replied for the Foreurs (10-12-1-2).
Mark Yetman made 21 saves for the Mooseheads, while Mathieu Cote turned away 33 shots for the Foreurs.
Rimouski 7 Baie Comeau 2
At Rimouski, Que., the Oceanic got goals from seven different players as they beat the Drakkar.
The Drakkar (14-6-0-2) scored the first two goals of the game, with Stephane Michaud and Francois Bouchard getting them on the board.
But the Oceanic (9-15-1-0) then scored seven unanswered goals by David Skokan, Samuel Collard, Olivier Fortier, Felix Lefrancois, Michael Frolik, Alexandre Neron and Gleason Fournier.
Michael Dupont made 26 saves for the Oceanic, while Mathieu Leclair turned away 16 shots for the Drakkar.
Victoriaville 5 Rouyn-Noranda 2
At Victoriaville, Que., Toby Lafrance scored a hat trick to lead the Tigres to the victory over the Huskies.
Philip-Michael Devos and Alexandre Monahan also scored for the Tigres (12-11-0-0).
Maxime Macenauer and Tyler Hawes replied for the Huskies (15-6-2-1).
Jean-Christophe Blanchard made 20 saves for the Tigres, while Guillaume Blouin turned away 23 shots for the Huskies.
PEI 6 Acadie Bathurst 4
At Bathurst, N.B., Brett Morrison scored two goals and a pair of assists to lead the Rocket to the victory over the Titan.
Geoff Walker, Matthew Lachaine, Chris Doyle and Pierre-Luc Lessard also scored for the Rocket (9-12-1-0).
Tomy Joly, Mathieu Perreault, Mathieu Labrie and Vincent Couture replied for the Titan (10-8-1-1).
Antoine Lafleur made 33 saves for the Rocket, while Antoine Tardif made 24 saves for the Titan.
Saint John 4 Chicoutimi 3
At Saint John, N.B., Christopher DiDomenico two goals and an assist to lead the Sea Dogs over the Sagueneens.
Ryan Sparling and Alexandre Picard-Hooper also scored for the Sea Dogs (13-5-1-2).
Francis Pare, Nicolas Deschamps and Francis Verreault-Paul replied for the Sagueneens (10-13-0-0).
Travis Fullerton made 40 saves for the Sea Dogs, while Bobby Nadeau turned away 24 shots for the Sagueneens.
Lewiston 2 St. John’s 1 (SO)
At St. John’s, N.L., Marc Bourgeois scored the shootout winner as the Maineiacs beat the Fog Devils.
Matt Fillier scored the opening goal of the game for the Fog Devils (10-9-1-3), while Stefano Giliati tied the game in the second period for the Maineiacs (13-9-1-0).
Jonathan Bernier made 25 saves for the Maineiacs, while Timo Pielmeier turned away 33 shots for the Fog Devils.
Shawinigan 7 Drummondville 4
At Drummondville, Que., Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll scored a hat trick to lead the Cataractes over the Voltigeurs.
Tommy Tremblay, Linden Bahm, Patrick Bernier and Sean Smyth also scored for the Cataractes (10-9-0-2).
Garrett Peters scored a pair and Drew Paris also counted for the Voltigeurs (6-17-1-1).
Roger Kennedy made 21 saves for the Cataractes, while Maxim Gougeon turned away 31 shots for the Voltigeurs.
