Anthony Grieco certainly made an impression in his sparkling OHL debut.
Grieco made 40 saves and earned first-star honours and Kaspars Dauvagins scored his second goal of the game 3:36 into overtime to lead the Mississauga-St. Michael’s Majors to a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.
Grieco left the University of North Dakota to join the OHL club.
Elsewhere in the OHL on Thursday, it was Belleville 3 Peterborough 2, Brampton 7 Owen Sound 2 and Barrie 7 Niagara 2.
At Windsor, Ont., the Spitfires’ Jordan Nolan opened the scoring just over 10 minutes into the second period before Dauvagins and Jesse Messier replied for the Majors (7-8-1-0) before the end of the second.
Greg Nemisz’s 14th goal of the season on a Windsor power play midway through the third period sent the game into overtime.
Spits goaltender Andrew Engelage stopped 17 shots in taking the loss for Windsor (11-5-1-3), loser of six straight.

At Peterborough, Ont., Shawn Matthias scored the winner as Belleville topped the Petes.
Battalion 7, Attack 2
At Brampton, Ont., Mike Lomas scored two power-play goals and John Hughes registered five assists as the Battalion coasted to a win over Owen Sound.
Colts 7, IceDogs 2
At Barrie, Ont., Vladimir Nikiforov had a goal and three assists to lead the Colts over Niagara.
