The Erie Otters tied the club record for consecutive defeats on Saturday night.
But they deserved a better fate.
The Plymouth Whalers scored the winning goal on the power play with 20 seconds left in regulation to hand the Otters a 3-2 loss in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night. The Otters (3-13-1-0) have lost 11 straight games, tying the record they set last season.
John Russell, manager of the Philadelphia Phillies’ AAA farm club Lehigh Valley, will be named manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources confirmed for ESPN.com Saturday.
The Pirates are expected to officially introduce Russell, a former Pirates third-base coach, at a Monday morning press conference at PNC Park, according to the Beaver County Times. He managed the Phillies’ Triple-A team the last two seasons.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Juan Manuel Marquez successfully defended his WBC super featherweight title Saturday night by outpointing Rocky Juarez.
Marquez improved to 48-3-1, while Juarez fell to 27-4.

When working in the field that you are educated in, you need to make sure that you are using your full potential. You need to make sure that you are considering all of the education that you have learned and applying that to what you are doing. There are ways of thinking smarter and using your education on the job to improve your career.
I know that it is hard to use everything that you learn in school and sometimes we forget but it is important to think smarter and you will see this come out in the work that you do. You will feel better and see how others respect you for what you know and how you are applying it to the workforce. I would take it all into consideration when you are making any kind of decision or making any big commitments in your work force.
