Exercise bicycles provide resistance which can be adjusted because some exercisers may want to pedal slowly but at higher resistance while others would prefer pedaling faster but at lower resistance. This latter type is often called spinning and is a form of aerobics exercise that is performed at health clubs and gyms. It requires that the exercise bicycles be set up to accommodate the type of exercise that the exerciser wishes to do. Adding variety to the workout can also be achieved through interval training which means alternating periods of high and low intensity and it helps the exerciser to comfortably achieve good workouts.

The diversity of applications that an exercise bicycle provides the rider makes it ideal for patients suffering from back problems and the seats and handlebars can be adjusted to facilitate different levels of comfort as well as keeping the rider’ s posture in the right position and that includes not tilting too far back. Most riders can adjust their exercise bicycles to whatever stature they want and also can opt for leaning forward or sitting upright, according to individual requirements.

OHL

Rookie Andrew Agozzino and Stefan Legein had a field day.

Agozzino scored three goals in a six-goal, first-period outburst and Legein also scored a hat trick as the Niagara IceDogs coasted to a 10-2 victory over the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Agozzino, the first-round selection of the IceDogs in the OHL priority draft last May, scored a short-handed goal and a pair of even-strength goals to increase his total to eight on the season as Niagara gave rookie netminder Will Sibley a rough welcome to the league.

Hardened burglars will realise that well installed security lighting is a significant deterrent to their proposed activities and an important aspect of making a home safe. The fitting of outside lighting is also an early warning to the potential burglar that the homeowner takes their home security seriously, encouraging them to move on to another more vulnerable house. Sadly many homeowners do not consider their exterior lighting as an integral part of their burglar prevention plans. Wherever you live, you should always ensure that you have exterior lights installed and that the lights are out of easy reach for any uninvited visitors.

There are several lighting options to consider covering various areas of your home. You need to assess your property through the eyes of a would be burglar, understand its weaknesses and then use the guide below to decide what lighting you are going to install.

The section of coastline between Benllech and Amlwch is probably the most contrasting section of the Anglesey Coastal Path and provides numerous possibilities for the landscape photographer. The coastal path climbs dramatically as it leaves Benllech and the view becomes expansive, with lots of interest. Again the Great Orme is in view, although a powerful telephoto lens is essential to successfully capture a photograph. The first main focus for the photographer on leaving Benllech however, is on the approach to Moelfre. It is a quaint place, with the appearance of a small Cornish fishing village, although as a consequence it can get very busy, so early hours photography provides the most tranquil shot. The only problem with Moelfre however, is finding the best location from which to take the shot as it’s located in a small corner of the coastline and doesn’t have many natural vantage points for the landscape photographer. The best option is to walk past the village on the coastal path and take a photograph looking backwards into the small harbour.

The coastline onwards from Moelfre becomes flatter and features include nicely located sandy coves with interesting detail and texture. The most notable amongst these is the beach at Lligwy, it can be reached by car too. The landscape photographer also finds added interest here in the form of Ynys Dulas, a small, rocky island on which is built a distinctive and particularly photogenic structure. It’s situated some distance from the beach so a powerful telephoto lens would be a good idea. If the coastal path is followed further however, the island does becomes closer in perspective, and as an added bonus the photographer will find the landscape provides increasingly strong foreground features, enhancing composition further.

Talent and Beauty and Women and Golf
Just yesterday I posted on the changing image of Natalie Gulbis. That post generated quite a bit of commentary on female golfers using their looks in marketing. Then today I came upon this interesting article about an ultra-elite female golfer and how her looks have affected the way she’s perceived, and undoubtedly, her own self-image.

The article, an interview with LPGA Hall of Fame golfer Pak Se-ri, appeared in Korea’s The Chosun Ilbo, a couple of weeks ago, just prior to the Samsung World Championship. The talented 29-year-old Korean revealed that when when she started to play in the LPGA a decade ago, people gossiped about her being ugly… and that now they say she looks prettier, and seem to speculate she’s had work done “on her jaw, her nose, here and there”. She admitted she had had eyelid surgery to correct an eye problem that interfered with her playing, but says that’s the extent of it. She laughed off the speculation and said, “I try to remember that all the gossip just means that I’ve become prettier, and not get offended by it.” then added, “And if I really tried to fix my face, I’d make me look much better than I do now!” That’s a refreshing attitude, isn’t it?
