Disclaimer:  I’d like to start out by saying, if you’re a diehard baseball fan who can’t handle anyone making fun of their sport, then this probably isn’t the article for you to read.  However, if you’re a baseball fan with a sense of humor, then you just might enjoy my diatribe. (end of disclaimer)

As a Wild fan, I’ve grown a rather thick skin since our innaugural season.  Trust me, we’ve heard it all.  Yes, we know how you all feel about the Wild’s style of play and we’ve also heard many times that Jacques Lemaire is “killing the game.”  Not so sure about that, as hockey is still being played.  What’s ironic, is that we also hear on all of your broadcasts about your favorite teams being “defensively responsible” as well as the cute names your broadcasters give your version of the trap, just as long as they don’t call it the trap.  And to top it all off, we’ve taken being raked over the coals in the press outside of Minnesota (most notably in Edmonton and Vancouver) over said style of play and our coach.

There are two main benefits of installing a GPS tracking system in your car. One, you can always find yourself just in case you go and get lost. Two, you can find your car in case your car gets lost or is stolen. Today, more and more car manufacturers are including this system as standard equipment in the cars they sell. It’s the new-age device that helps you, like some omnipresent being, know where you or your vehicle are every minute of the day and night. There might be times when this might seem like a “big brother watching” feeling but more often than not, it provides a sort of security that someone is watching over your car.

If the GPS tracking system comes with your car, well and good, but if it does not, where do you get it? There are a number of retail outlets that stock them or you could find them on the Internet. You will find you have quite a choice of the latest devices. Many electronic shops not only sell you the devices but also install them for you. You’ll also find them in car specialty stores or shops that stock car accessories. On the Internet of course, no matter where in the world you are, you will find that you can order the tracking system of your choice and it will be mailed to you.

Georgia Tech head coach Chan Gailey blasted a CBSSportsline note that he expects to be fired at the end of the season, regardless how the Yellow Jackets finish the year.

“That’s so crazy, I’m not even going to comment on that,” Gailey said, and then he did, anyway. “That’s asinine,” he said.

Tech athletics director Dan Radakovich reacted similarly.

SAN ANTONIO – John Cook won his first Champions Tour title in his second start on the 50-and-over circuit, closing with a 6-under 65 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory over Mark O’Meara in the AT&T Championship.

Cook, the 11-time PGA Tour winner who turned 50 on Oct. 2, began the round two strokes behind O’Meara and Tom Kite and was three behind after a bogey on the par-4 third hole at Oak Hills Country Club. But Cook birdied the next two holes, and added five more birdies on Nos. 9-11 and 15 and 16 to finish at 15-under 198.
